Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP)

The Background

The Ohio Department of Education (EDU) sought assistance with an assessment of the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) with a focus on the planning tool. Specifically, the EDU wanted to explore the possibility of redesigning and streamlining the CCIP tool. PSI awarded fixed-fee, deliverables-based engagement to provide an As-Is, To-Be and To-Be-Execution Model.

The Approach

Our approach provided a high-energy and high-impact evaluation that yielded high-value deliverables which fed subsequent efforts throughout the entire analysis process. We took a methodical and formative view of the existing application, the functionality contained within the application and the business process enforced by the application. Once this “functional matrix assessment” had been exhaustively identified and the solution functionality categorized, we collaborated with the business users to map the functionality perspective to the business perspective (goals and objectives) resulting in a three dimensional view of the As-Is: To-Be evaluations.

The Results

We delivered the following deliverables:

  • Internal Interview Results- Leadership
  • Internal Interview Results- Stakeholders
  • External Focus Group Results
  • Technology Leadership Interview Results
  • Top 3 ESSA Impact Interview Results (other States)
  • To-Be Model
  • To-Be Execution Model

Our ultimate leave behind was a path to production from re-design to the operationalization of an evolved Planning Tool that accomplished the goals and objectives of the State of Ohio Department of Education and its stakeholders.
